McLuhan Open Studio
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of famed Canadian media philosopher and “champion of the book” Marshall McLuhan the Open Studio will be a temporary, autonomous media zone exploring the impact of McLuhan’s thinking on the fulminant revolutions taking place within and beyond book culture. By engaging and surveying the guests, authors, bloggers and shapers of the Frankfurt Book Fair, the McLuhan Open Studio creates a live and interactive stream, producing a collective McLuhan styled manifesto on the ‘Future of Communication’.
The Open Studio moves throughout the entire Book Fair recording and reflecting its unique dialogue online, and has its base in Hall 4.1. Here key interviews talk place and rare archival video material from the collection of the Marshall McLuhan Salon, Embassy of Canada Berlin can be accessed.
